What is the air quality in my city? The Environmental Protection Agency releases a yearly report on the air quality of large metropolitan areas. The cities are graded on the number of days the air pollution reached unhealthy levels. Three Southern California cities recorded the most unhealthy air days in the nation last year: the Riverside-San Bernardino area had 97, Bakersfield had 94 and Fresno had 83. Look up your city in the 1999 report and learn about the Air Quality Index.
