Who was the first criminal to appear on the Ten Most Wanted list?
Thomas James Holden was the first to be placed on the Ten Most Wanted List on March 14, 1950. Holden was charged with crossing state lines to avoid persecution for a 1949 triple-murder charge in Chicago. After spotting a photo of Holden in an Oregonian newspaper, a local citizen contacted authorities. Holden was living under another name in a trailer camp outside Beaverton, Oregon, and was working as a plasterer until the time of his arrest by F.B.I. agents on June 23, 1951.
