How many multiracial Americans did the Census count?
In the 2000 Census, 6.8 million people (about 2.4 percent of the population) identified themselves as of more than one race. The Census also recorded 35.3 million Hispanics (12.5 percent), 34.7 million blacks (12.3 percent) and 10.2 million Asians (3.6 percent).
