Which U.S. state had the most murders in 2000?
In 2006, California had the highest murder rate in the country with 2,485 killings. Texas had 1,384, Florida had 1,129 and New York had 921.Overall, violent crime increased by 1.9 percent in the United States when compared to the same time period in 2005.
