What percentage of people in the U.S. are unemployed?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 8.2% of people 16 years of age or older (12.7 million) are unemployed, which compares with a historical high of 10.8 percent in November 1982 and a record low of 2.5 percent in May 1953.
