Fastest Growing Cities
New Orleans was the fastest growing area in the nation in 2009, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The report also noted that of the 25 largest cities, only a handful experienced population loss, including Detroit, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Also New York retained its position as the largest U.S. city, followed by Los Angeles and Chicago.
