America's Most Dangerous Cities
Comparing violent crime rates in more than 400 U.S. cities, CQ Press found that Flint, Mich., topped the 2011 list of America's Most Dangerous Cities [pdf]. Camden, N.J., Detroit, St. Louis, and Oakland, Calif., round out the top five. The annual report, using data from the F.B.I.'s "Crime in the United States," ranks the cities in six different crime areas: murder, rape, burglary, robbery, aggravated assault and motor vehicle theft.
