Congratulations to Michigan.gov
An extensive redesign in July 2001 transformed Michigan's official home page into a user-friendly portal. Visitors to Michigan.gov are greeted with state news and upcoming events on the front page. Then they are free to delve deeper into the site, exploring state resources for education, business, travel and more. The site is organized by topic instead of agency, making it easier to find information. All the state resources relevant to students, for example, are in one location instead of spread throughout the site. License plate renewals, purchase of hunting licenses and vital records requests are only a sampling of the e-government services available.
One unique feature is MiBid, Michigan's online auction of surplus goods. Residents can bid for items such as office furniture and computers.
